Managing and Viewing Waste Disposal Records

Information on the workflow, viewing, and general management of Waste Disposal records.

Waste Disposal Workflow

Waste Disposal records typically follow a simple two-step process:

  1. Draft: When you start a new record, it's in "Draft" status. You can edit all fields and save your changes. The record is not yet considered final.
  2. Saved: After you "Submit" a Draft record, its status changes to "Saved." This indicates the waste disposal event has been formally logged.

Viewing Waste Disposal Records

The main list view in the Waste Disposal module displays all logged records. You can use standard platform features to manage this view:

  • Search and Filter: Utilize the search bar and column filters (e.g., by Date, Waste Type, Originator) to locate specific records.
  • Customize Columns: Adjust the columns displayed in the list to show the information most relevant to your needs.
  • Export Data: Export the list of records to formats like CSV or PDF for reporting or offline use.

For more detailed instructions on these general features, please refer to the "Searching Records," "Customising Column Headings," and "Exporting Data" help documents in the General Features category.

You can also view any Attachments associated with a record and see its Hierarchy details (e.g., Site, Department).

Record List View Insights

The main list quickly shows key details for each record, such as its current Status, Originator, Waste Type, Classification, and Date. The "Waste Type" field is particularly useful for general searches across the system to find waste disposal records.

Roles and Permissions

Your ability to interact with Waste Disposal records depends on your assigned user role:

  • Users, Power Users, and Admins can generally create and read records, and edit records that are in a "Draft" status.
  • Admins typically have additional privileges, such as deleting records or managing bulk import/export operations. Specific permissions for editing certain groups of fields might also vary based on your role and the record's current workflow status.
