Hazard Module Overview

Purpose

The Hazard module helps manage workplace safety by providing tools to record, analyze, control, and monitor hazards. It supports a systematic approach to risk reduction. Maintaining an accurate knowledge bank of known current hazards is also useful for easily associating reported hazards in other module records, e.g. in a Take 5 record, an avoiding data and effort duplication.

• Assess risk: Evaluate initial and residual risk levels.
• Manage controls: Document and track control measures.
• Track lifecycle: Monitor hazards from identification to resolution through a defined workflow.

• Link to other processes: Connect hazards to related incidents, actions, and risk assessments.

Hazard Form Types

Two main forms are used in this module:

1. General Hazard Form: For most hazards identified directly in the workplace. This form guides you through reporting, classification, treatment, and risk analysis.
2. Risk Assessment Hazard Form: For hazards identified during a formal Risk Assessment. These are typically created from within the Risk Assessment module itself and have fields tailored for that context.
