What is the dashboard TRIFR graph showing me?
The Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) graph displays the frequency rate of Lost Time Injuries (LTIs), Medical Treatment Injuries (MTIs), and Restricted Work Injuries (RWIs). 1
The dashboard calculates this rate by dividing the number of recordable injuries by the number of hours worked for a specific period (e.g., a month), and then multiplying the result by a standard factor, such as 1 million or 200,000. This provides a standardized metric, such as the number of injuries per one million hours worked. 1
Prerequisites
For the TRIFR graph and other frequency rate reports to function correctly, records for hours worked must be logged in the system. This is typically done by users in the Admin group. 1
To log hours worked:
- Choose "Hours Worked" from the Incident Reporting form menu.
- Select "New Record".
- Update the Hierarchy if required.
- Enter the "Month Ending" date.
- Select the "Affiliation" (e.g., Employee, Contractor).
- Enter the "Total Hours Worked" and "Number of Employees" for the period.
- Select "Submit". Records must be submitted to be included in dashboard reports. 1
