Advanced Validation Rules

How Administrators can configure advanced validation rules for Question fields, requiring specific actions based on the answer selected.

Advanced Validation Rules ensure that if a specific answer is chosen for a question, a corresponding mandatory field (Comment, Linked Record, or Attachment) must be completed.

Steps to Configure Validation

  1. When adding or editing a 'Question' field in the Form Editor, select the 'Advanced validation rules' button at the bottom.

  2. In the 'Advanced Validation Rules' pop-up, select the answer that triggers the rule from the 'When answer is:' dropdown (e.g., No, N/A).

  3. Check the box(es) for the field(s) that become mandatory when that answer is selected ('Comments', 'linked records', 'Attachments').

  4. Repeat steps 2-3 for other answers if needed.

  5. Select 'Ok'.

  6. Select 'Ok' again on the main Question configuration.

  7. Select 'Save' at the bottom of the Form Definition page.
