Finding and Reviewing Diary Entries

How to search for, filter, and view existing diary entries for review or information retrieval.

Accessing Diary Records

When you open the Diary module, a list of recent or all diary entries is displayed.

Searching and Filtering

To find specific diary entries:

  • Use Column Filters: Click on column headers (e.g., 'Event Type,' 'Reporting Person,' 'Reporting Date') to apply filters. For date fields, you can often select predefined ranges or a custom range.
  • Utilize Global Search: The main search bar can help you find entries containing specific keywords in fields like 'Brief Description' or 'Full Description.' These tools help you narrow down the list to find the information you need, such as all observations from a particular site last month. (For general search tips, see "Searching Records").

Viewing Entry Details

  • The list view shows key summary information. You might be able to customize which columns are visible.
  • Click on any entry in the list to open and view its full details. If the record has been 'Saved,' it will typically open in read-only mode.
