Dashboard Configuration and Layouts

Explains how Dashboard layouts, tabs, and user permissions for configuration are managed.

Configuration Permissions

Access to configure the Dashboard depends on user roles. A designated 'Layout Administrator' role typically has full control.

  • Admin: Can view all records, add/modify/remove individual tabs and widgets, export widgets/tabs, configure default tabs, and configure global widget properties (affecting all users).

  • Layout Admin: Same as Admin, plus access to the 'Layout Administration' button to assign tabs and modification rights to other users.

  • Users with <No Flags> or other roles: Can typically view records based on their hierarchy, view assigned default tabs, potentially add/modify their own individual tabs and widgets, and export widgets/tabs, depending on permissions granted by the Layout Admin.

Dashboard Layout

Each user has their own Dashboard layout consisting of one or more Tabs. These tabs can be a combination of 'Default Tabs' configured by an Administrator and 'Individual Tabs' created by the user (if permitted).

Default Tabs

Configured by a Layout Administrator and assigned to users. These tabs always appear first in the tab order.

  1. Enter 'Edit' mode (button usually at the bottom left).

  2. Use the 'Layout Administration' button (visible only to Layout Admins).

  3. Assign users/roles to 'read only' access or 'modification allowed' access for the selected default tab.

  4. Set the 'Tab Weight' to control the order (lower numbers appear first). For example, Incidents=1, Hazards=5, Injuries=10, Actions=15.

  5. Save changes.

Individual Tabs

Users (if permitted) can create their own tabs, visible only to them.

  1. Click the '+' button on the tab menu.

  2. Enter a name for the new tab and select 'Add New Tab'.

  3. The new tab appears. Enter 'Edit' mode.

  4. Use options like 'Rename tab', 'Delete tab', and 'Order Tabs' (using up/down arrows) to manage your individual tabs.

  5. Add widgets as needed (See 'Managing Dashboard Widgets').

  6. Save changes.

Note: The number of tabs and widgets can impact dashboard loading time.
