Managing Dashboard Widgets
Covers how to add, configure, resize, filter, export, and delete widgets on the myosh Dashboard.
Widget Library
Each customer has an individualized Widget library containing charts, tables, maps, and graphs relevant to the modules they use. This library is accessed when a tab is in 'Edit' mode.
Adding a Widget
-
Select the tab you want to add the widget to.
-
Enter 'Edit' mode (button usually at the bottom left).
-
Click the 'Add a widget...' dropdown list at the bottom.
-
Scroll through the list and select the desired widget.
-
The widget will appear on the selected tab.
-
Remember to 'Save' the tab changes before exiting.
Widget Customisation (Settings)
Widgets can be customized further using the Settings (gear icon) and Filter (funnel icon) buttons, visible at the top right of each widget when in 'Edit' mode.
Filtering Widgets
Use the Filter button (funnel icon) to apply widget-specific filters. See 'Dashboard Filters' for details.
Configuring Widgets
Use the Settings button (gear icon) and select 'Configure'.
-
Configuration options vary by widget type (e.g., Bar, Pie, Table).
-
Common options:
- Show Data Series: Display 'all' data items or limit to 'top 5', 'top 10', 'top 30'.
- Label Display (Pie Charts): Show 'Percentage', 'Number of records', or 'Both'.
- Decimal Places (Pie Charts): Choose rounding options.
- Customise Data Series: Select a data series (e.g., a specific site, a classification), click 'Edit' to change its label or color.
- Enable Custom Sorting: Allows manual reordering of data series using up/down arrows (use 'Reset' to revert and fetch new items).
- Do not display [none]: Tick to hide records with a 'none' or blank value for the primary data series field.
- Display Legend: Toggle the legend visibility (On/Off).
-
Widget configuration changes made by users with 'Layout Admin' or 'Admin' roles typically apply globally to all users viewing that widget.
Resizing Widgets
Use the Settings button (gear icon) and select 'Full Width' to expand the widget across the page, or 'Normal Width' (if already expanded) to return it to its default size.
Deleting Widgets
Use the Settings button (gear icon) and select 'Delete'. This removes the widget from the current tab but does not delete it from the Widget Library. Remember to 'Save' the tab changes.
Exporting Widgets and Tabs
-
Exporting Individual Widgets: In 'Edit' mode, click the Export button (printer icon) at the top right of the widget. Options typically include PDF. Table Chart widgets may also offer an Excel export option.
-
Exporting Entire Tabs: Click the 'Export' button located at the top right corner of the entire Dashboard (outside of Edit mode). This exports all widgets on the currently active tab to PDF or Excel.
