Completing and Closing an Injury Report
How to finalize and close an Injury Management Report once all actions and EOCs are complete.
Completing and Closing an Injury Report
Closing an Injury Report signifies that all necessary management processes for that report have concluded.
Prerequisites for Closing
Before closing an Injury Report, ensure that:
- All sections of the Injury Report are complete and accurate.
- Any linked 'Episode of Care' (EOC) is finalized and appropriately statused (potentially closed itself).
- All related records (Certificates, RTW Plans, Costs, Shifts Lost, Attachments) are complete.
- Any linked corrective or preventative actions have been addressed or are being managed.
How to Close the Report
- Open the Injury Report.
- If necessary, select 'Edit' to enable workflow actions.
- Use the workflow button that moves the report to its final closed state (e.g., 'Close Off', 'Complete'). The report's status will then change to 'Closed', and it will typically become read-only.
Important Considerations
- 'Report Only' Injuries: These may have a simplified workflow allowing direct closure from a draft or initial submitted status if the Injury Classification is "Report Only".
- Re-opening Reports: Most workflows allow a closed report to be re-opened by authorized users if new information arises or further action is needed.
Consult your System Administrator if you are unsure about specific workflow steps or permissions. (For a general overview of workflows, see 'Submitting Forms' in General Features).
